Rather not drive on the 31st? We can sort you a ride to The Park at Ocean Ranch, 13 minutes from Jacó. There are two ways to do it: a cheap shared ride with other people heading to the party, or private VIP transport just for your group. We set this up because it is the question we get most after the date. Plenty of people come without a car, land at SJO or stay at a hotel in town, and nobody likes the idea of haggling for a taxi at 3 am on January 1.
Shared ride
You ride with other people going to the party and the cost gets split. We confirm the pickup point and time when we quote, and from there it pays to be on time. Your backpack and basic camping gear fit; if you are bringing half your house, tell us first.
Best if you are traveling solo or as a couple and do not mind meeting people on the way, which at a party of 500 is going to happen anyway.

A car or van just for you, leaving from wherever you are: the airport, your place in San José or your hotel in Jacó. You pick the time, there is room for tents and coolers, and the ride back on January 1 leaves when your group says so, not when the first bus does.

If you would rather get there on your own
You can, and we walk through it on getting there. Short version: from San José or the airport it is Ruta 27, an hour and a half to two hours; tolls are paid in cash; Transportes Jacó Ruby runs a bus to Jacó that fills up in high season; and from town, a taxi to the venue costs about ₡5.000.
The one thing we would not do is land at night on the 30th and take an unfamiliar road in a rental car. If that is your plan, let someone else drive.

How much is transport to La Selva del Bajo?
It depends on where you leave from and how many of you there are. The shared ride is cheaper because the cost is split; VIP is quoted per group. Message us on WhatsApp at +1 518 351 6952 with your pickup point and we will send you the number.
Can you pick me up at the airport?
Yes, VIP rides can leave from SJO. Send us your flight number and landing time and we will tell you whether to head straight over or wait until camp opens.
Is there a ride back on January 1?
Yes, book it together with the ride out. Campers stay on the grounds until 11 am on January 2, so the return gets set for a sensible hour instead of 3 am.
Does transport include a ticket?
